Tell us about yourself!
If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be passionate! I’m someone who loves to wake up early in the morning when half of the world is asleep and just do things. I’m currently working as a Content Marketing Specialist at AskMen.com, which I absolutely love. And during evening hours, I work on my personal blog Candied Chocolate.
Give us the ‘inside scoop’ – what does a day in your business life look like?
Every day, I wake up at 5:35 a.m. to hit the gym. Getting a workout early in the morning is very important for me as it sets the tone for my day. By 9 a.m. I’m at the office and by 6 p.m. I’m back home making a quick dinner and working on my blog.
Do you think it’s important to love what you do, or make good money?
I think it’s tremendously important to love what you do. Every day is a gift therefore it must be full of love and passion. Don’t waste your life chasing money; life is too short!
Where did you get your education? Tell us about this experience.
I got my Bachelor’s Degree and my Master’s Degree from Montreal’s Concordia University. Being a university student was probably one of the most rewarding experiences. Not only was I able to learn so much about so many different things, but I was also able to learn a lot about myself.
What was your first job after college/university?
I worked as a Business Coordinator for a tech start-up.
What are your tips for setting yourself apart in the workplace?
Sometimes a little goes a long way – be punctual, be polite, be happy, and work hard!
How do you achieve work/life balance? How do you unplug?
I love spending time with my husband. We do a lot of coffee dates and that relaxes me the most.
What is your favourite travel hot spot?
Slovakia – that’s where my family and my husband’s family lives. Every opportunity we get to travel that’s where we always go.
Can you offer any advice for new graduates looking for a job or new entrepreneurs?
Don’t settle for less but also don’t expect to land your dream job right away. Getting to where you want to be requires a lot of hard work. So my best advice? Never whine. Never complain. Never make excuses. Work hard. Be confident, but humble.
