Describe your most recent business success and tell us about your next big goal. What’s up next?
My most recent business success has been expanding to online training and making that where most of my income comes from. My next big goal is to become an IFBB figure pro which will help give me an even bigger platform to inspire and help more people!
How would you define success?
I think success is defined as becoming the best version of yourself and the more people that you can influence along your journey, the more successful you will become. Life is all about helping and servicing others along your own journey of self-fulfillment.
Give us the ‘inside scoop’ – what does a day in your business life look like?
A day in my business life consists of early mornings sometimes starting at 5 or 6 a.m. with in person sessions, busy online programming on my computer, answering a lot of emails and getting posts up on the blog. It’s an all day thing with no set hours! I just work until the work is done. I take breaks to eat and train and even then I’m working via my cell phone.
What types of customers are in your business ‘pink book’ and who are you looking to connect with?
I’m looking to connect with both men and women who are lost on their health and fitness journey. But I’m also looking for clients who are 100% committed and mature enough to do some work on their own when I create a plan for them. If they aren’t committed it will never work with online training. I’m there to teach them and guide them, not hold their hand every day.

If you were not doing this job, what is your plan B? Are you still chasing your dream job?
I would love to be in film or tv. I have filmed 3 commercials as myself and loved it! It’s also another great way to inspire and influence others!
Do you think it’s important to love what you do, or make good money?
Absolutely! I love my job so much that it doesn’t feel like work! It’s also flexible to allow me to chase my own dreams!
Is owning your own business as glamorous as it sounds?
Yes absolutely, but you have to be willing to put in the work to make it successful!
What inspired you to start your own business? What made you decide to take the leap?
I read the book The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris. Started my own business and never looked back.
Where did you get your education? Tell us about this experience.
Dalhousie University in Halifax and countless fitness certifications and courses on top of that. I loved my time at Dal. The Kin program was small and I really got a great education with lots of practical knowledge.
What was your first job after college/university?
I was a personal trainer at a gym called take 30. It was a circuit training gym for women. Similar to Curves.

What are your tips for setting yourself apart in the workplace?
Be yourself! Don’t try and be anyone else. This will attract your tribe and people who believe in you and what you do.
How do you achieve work/life balance? How do you unplug?
My boyfriend does the same type of work that I do. We train and work together. To unplug for me is my own time in the gym! I also love to go hiking in the outdoors. It’s fun and gets me out of a gym/office.
Where do you manufacture your products? How did you source the correct manufacturer?
I create all of my own templates for programs. Right now I do not sell any other products besides training programs. I have some ideas I want to get in the works soon for products but I’m not at the point of manufacturing yet.
What are your plans for expansion?
I want to have other coaches working for me and coaching people with my principles and programming.
What is your favourite travel hot spot?
I love LA. My closest friends are there, the weather is perfect and there’s always something to do.
Can you offer any advice for new graduates looking for a job or new entrepreneurs?
Get experience. Find a mentor or a co-op program and read literature from the people who you look up to! But nothing will prepare you like practical work experience. There will be tough times but never ever give up!
